Dr. Cara Marker Daily is a licensed pediatric psychologist with over 20 years of clinical, research, and teaching experience with autism in the home, school, hospital, and community settings. Dr. Daily is the president and training director of Daily Behavioral Health, a leading behavioral health provider in northeast Ohio specializing in assessment, consultation, and treatment of autism spectrum disorders and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Dr. Daily is also the founder and executive director of the Building Behaviors Autism Center, which has received numerous grants to provide free and reduced cost applied behavioral analysis services to individuals with autism. She has written several cognitive-behavioral and behavioral-based curriculums focusing on teaching daily living skills to children with autism, published a peer-reviewed journal article supporting evidence for success of these programs, and authored the book, The Key to Autism: An Evidence-based Workbook for Assessing and Treating Children and Adolescents. She has presented nationally on topics of autism, disruptive behaviors disorders, anxiety, and chronic health conditions in the pediatric population. Dr. Daily has been featured in radio, television, and other media platforms in northeast Ohio, including hosting the radio show, Wonderfully Made, a program for families and children with special needs. Dr. Elizabeth C. van der Oord is a licensed psychologist at Daily Behavioral Health. She received her PhD in counseling psychology from The University of Akron (APA accredited) and completed a health psychology predoctoral internship (APA accredited) at the Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center with rotations in the General Medicine Clinics, Pain Management Center, and Recovery Resource Center. Dr. van der Oord completed two 2-year postdoctoral fellowships at Daily Behavioral Health and Baldwin-Wallace University Counseling Services. She is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the Ohio Psychological Association, the Society of Counseling Psychology, and APA Division 47 (Exercise and Sport Psychology). She has experience treating children and adults with chronic medical conditions; grief and loss; anxiety, mood, and behavioral disorders; autism spectrum disorders; and sports injury and performance concerns. Amy Herr is a Licensed Independent Social Worker at Daily Behavioral Health, providing individual and family counseling. She received her master’s degree in Social Science Administration (social work) from Case Western Reserve University in 1998. Most recently Amy has completed coursework towards becoming a certified Biblical counselor. Amy’s entire career has been spent working in the community mental health setting with a primary focus on providing counseling and completing comprehensive mental health assessments for children with complex behavioral health histories. Amy’s areas of clinical interest include: anxiety, mood, and behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorder, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD), and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Ruth Yarnevic is a licensed, certified speech-language pathologist at Daily Behavioral Health. She received her M.A. in speech-language pathology from The University of Akron. Prior to coming to Daily Behavioral Health, Ruth worked in the public school setting, serving students with a wide range of communication needs. Her current areas of interest include assessment and treatment of receptive, expressive, and pragmatic (social) language skills, and articulation (speech sounds). Amanda Livengood is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and the primary supervisor for Daily Behavioral Health's autism center-based program. Amanda earned her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from John Carroll University. She completed post-graduate training in behavior analysis at the Florida Institute of Technology and achieved board certification as a BCBA in 2015. Prior to coming to Daily Behavioral Health, Amanda worked at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Autism as a behavior therapist at the Lerner School, as a group facilitator for a social cognitive training program, and as a behavioral consultant for the Outreach Department. Amanda specializes in treating autism spectrum disorders utilizing the science of Applied Behavior Analysis to include functional behavior assessment, discrete trial instruction, functional communication training, task analysis, and pivotal response training. Lisa Freed is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at Daily Behavioral Health and at the Building Behaviors Autism Center. Lisa completed her Master’s degree in applied behavior analysis with an emphasis in autism at Ball State University. Lisa achieved board certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and as a Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst (COBA) in 2014. Lisa is also a certified Therapeutic Crisis Intervention trainer. Prior to coming to Daily Behavioral Health, Lisa worked as a behavior specialist at the Monarch Center for Autism specializing in functional behavior assessments, behavior intervention plans, and functional analysis of challenging behavior. Amanda Meyer is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at Daily Behavioral Health. Amanda earned her Masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with an Autism Treatment Specialty from Sage Graduate School. Amanda achieved her board certification in behavior analysis (BCBA) in 2014, and as an Ohio behavior analyst (COBA) in 2016. Prior to coming to Daily Behavior Health, Amanda worked at the Cleveland Clinic Center for Autism, and at The Kidslink School as an Education Coordinator and Supervision Training Director. Amanda has experience of working in many different settings with children at all ends of the autism spectrum, including in-home, center-based, and in-school settings. Tera Chmura is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst for Daily Behavioral Health. Tera earned her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Akron in 2009. She completed post-graduate training in behavior analysis from Florida Institute of Technology and achieved board certification as a BCBA in 2018. Tera has had over 10 years of experience in the field working with individuals with special needs. Prior to coming to Daily Behavioral Health, Tera worked at STEPS Academy as a behavior therapist, where she worked with a diverse population of individuals on the Autism spectrum. While there she specialized in functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans. She also worked as a behavior consultant at Therapy Wellness Connection, and ABA Outreach. Tera specializes in Independent Education Evaluations, school consultation, and data collection procedures. She treats autism spectrum disorders using evidence- based practices including: functional behavior assessments, discrete trial training, functional communication training, and pivotal response training. Tera has worked with children and adolescents on the Autism Spectrum, from mild to severe, in home and school settings. She diligently works with families to ensure generalization which will foster meaningful outcomes for the individual client.
Ashley Berman is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, born and raised on the East side of Cleveland. Ashley carries an undergraduate degree in communication sciences and disorders as well as a masters degree in special education. Her primary areas of focus are the reduction of severe problem behavior, functional behavior assessments, teaching functional living skills, and supervision. Ashley has experience working in adult and youth residential, in-patient behavior units, Autism schools and clinics, and in-home. During her training, Ashley primarily worked with young adults and teenagers. She now works with individuals of all ages and abilities. Ashley is also a certified PEERS social skills curriculum provider, and a professionally trained singer.
Blaze is a black Yorkipoo who was named after the Messiah Lutheran Trailblazers. Blaze occasionally makes appearances at Daily Behavioral Health just for fun. Kyro is a white Coton de Tulear who was donated to Daily Behavioral Health as a therapy dog for children with special needs. He was named by one of our clients who put the name "Kyro" in a bowl when we asked for ideas for a puppy name. Kyro in Japanese means dependable and the early Christian symbol of Chi Rho means Christ. Kyro typically visits when Dr. Daily is in the office and when requested by some of our social skills group activities.
